To our valuable customers & trade partners,
First and foremost, I would like to share with you how vitally important all of our vendors, subcontractors, partners, and customers are to our Trailside home building efforts. Without all of you, there wouldn’t be an us. I thank you for your continued dedication to our team.
Many questions are being asked about how Covid19 will be affecting the home building industry in our state, and in King and Kittitas County.
The positive news is we are well aligned with national, state, and local resources so our team has confidence in implementing their jobs and schedules. The general consensus from these resources is that homebuilding is protected as an essential service under the Essential Workers language:
“Construction Workers who support the construction, operation, inspection, and maintenance of construction sites and construction projects (including housing construction)”
This language is on page 11 of this link: https://covid19.ca.gov/img/EssentialCriticalInfrastructureWorkers.pdf
A Building Industry Association of Washington message this morning included the following message:
Under the Order “construction workers who support … construction sites and construction projects (including housing construction)” are listed as an “essential service. Based upon this language, homebuilders and remodelers may continue with operations while the stay-at-home order is in effect.”
Our intention is to allow the continuing operations of our business to the extent we can operate and build safely. We will follow the recommendations in the BIAW and the state recommendations for sanitary conditions at jobsites and our offices. The Trailside team has read the full announcement from BIAW and is well versed on best jobsite practices. Our trade partners have been notified and we have encouraged them to reach out to us if they are uncomfortable in anyway. Our team is ready to talk through best practices and how we can work together to accommodate concerns regarding a safe working environment.
Final note, any of this information can change literally hourly, and if it does, I will do my best to update you immediately.
Thank you all-
Sean Northrop, Owner
